T h e y a re e a g e r t o s h a re t h e i r e x p e r i e n c e and knowledge with young, enthusias tic musicians. P O RT L A N D YO U T H P H I L H A R M O N I C A S S O C I AT I O N THE PEER MENTOR PROGRAM IS OFFERED IN THREE SESSIONS OF EIGHT LESSONS: Fall Session: Oct 8 - Dec 3, 2014 Winter Session: Jan 7 - Feb. 25, 2015 Spring Session: March 11 - May 6, 2015 Lessons are available to be taught on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings between 5:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Jackson Middle School (10625 SW 35th Avenue). PEER MENTOR PROGRAM APPLICATION Please mail this form with $40 fee to: Portland Youth Philharmonic 9320 SW Barbur Blvd, Suite 140 Portland, OR 97219 Applications must be received in the PYP office before lessons can begin. Which set of lessons are you applying for? All orchestral string, wind, brass, and percussion instruments are taught based on PYP musician availability. Sorry, piano lessons are not offered. Students who participate in the Peer Mentor Program are expected to attend all lessons. Should a student find it necessary to cancel a lesson, the instructor must be notified at least 24 hours in advance. Any last minute cancellations will not be made up, and will count towards the total number of lessons received by the student. All lessons must be completed by May 14, 2015. Free tickets to PYP Concerts! Participating students will receive a certificate redeemable for up to four free concert tickets to the PYP concert during their participation in the Peer Mentor Program. Students participating in lesssons for the year may have the opportunity to sit in on a rehearsal at Jackson with their instructor at the end of the season.
