ACE Enrichment Classes – Hoover Middle School
(First Term: Monday, August 18-Friday, October 17, 2014)
Basketball (Girls): Students will learn the rules of the game and beginner skills (dribbling, passing, shooting). Hoop it up!
Drama: Students will learn drama skills while participating in drama activities including games, improvisation exercises, skits and
scenes.
Flag Football (Boys): Students will learn the rules of the game and beginner skills (passing, catching, and set plays). Hike!
Folklorico: Students will learn different dances and techniques from various countries. Performances will take place later in the year at
Hoover.
Hip Hop: This fun course emphasizes creativity, expression, movement, and balance. Students will learn a variety of hip hop dance
styles like popping, locking, and breaking and improve self-esteem through body expression.
INSPIRE - Compassionate communication, leadership, and empowerment. This fun and interactive class will teach students to use
communications techniques to empower themselves to become more self-aware and enhance their leadership skills.
Soccer: Students will learn the rules of the game and beginner skills (dribbling, passing, shooting, positions). GOOOAAALLL!
Tai Chi: Wouldn't it be great to learn some skills that help us relax after a long day? What kind of a difference would it make to learn
skills that empower us to make clear decisions and improve our health and well-being. This introductory course will help you learn
essential tai chi skills, Chi Gung, relaxation techniques and much more. Experience the difference Tai Chi can make in your life!
Volleyball: Students will learn the rules of the game and beginner skills (set, bump, spike) as well as teamwork.

Nine Essential Skills for the Love and Logic™ Classroom (Teachers): Learn the essential skills to help you with classroom
management, the love and logic way!
Parenting the Love and Logic Way™: Attend this class to learn skills that significantly increase the chance for success in your child’s
life while increasing peace and joy in your own. Avoid power struggles, set limits, and help your child learn from mistakes. This
program is designed to give you practical skills you can apply immediately!

Baloncesto (Ninas): Los estudiantes aprenderán las reglas del juego y las habilidades de principiante (regates, pases,
disparos).
Drama: Los estudiantes aprenderán habilidades teatrales durante su participación en actividades de teatro, incluyendo
juegos, ejercicios de improvisación, sketches y escenas.
Futbol americano (Niños): Los estudiantes aprenderán las reglas del juego y principiantes habilidades.
Folklórico: Los estudiantes aprenderán diferentes danzas y técnicas de varios países. Las presentaciones se llevarán a
