A REVIEW OF THE MAGNETIC DATA INTERPRETATION OF GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY USING AEROMAGNETIC MAP BY BEN, CHRISTIAN ORMUINU (Matrie No:2005/0723) A PROJECT SUBMITTED THE REQUIREMENT IN PARTIAL FULFILMENT OF OF THE AWARD OF BACHELOR SCIENCE DEGREE (B.Se HONS) IN PHYSICS, TO DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS, COLLEGE OF NATURAL SCIENCES, UNIVERSITY ABEOKUTA,OGUN OF AGRICULTURE, STATE ,NIGERIA. OF This proje~t W9.rk explains the illter~i<m of !fiagnetle data Qsifl~ !!n ~~r§magneti~ ma" of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State in Nigeria. 'f!l~p!llsies of magastilt int;rp~!!tfion was e£pJailW~ ~QYP!ed with the m~nli Qf processing magnetic data. During this project work an aeromagnetic map was digitized, pr-ofiles were extracted from the digitized map after which I carried out reduction to the poles and filtering. Finally the approximation to the depth, amplitude and wavelength of the seleeted profiles were estimated using computer programs. This work validates previous works done on the area that shows that the area is a sedimentary region and contains subsurface deposits that are of economic importance.
