RUMSON GARDEN CLUB’S CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION
T
he Rumson Garden
Club was founded in
1914 and has been a
member of the Garden Club
of America since 1916 with
the mission of stimulating the
knowledge and love of gardening, as well as to restore,
improve and protect the quality of the environment
through educational programs and action in the fields
of conservation and civic
improvement. Over the years
the RGC has engaged in
many charitable endeavors,
not to mention the plethora
of beautification projects all
over the peninsula. Today the
club is as vibrant as ever and
recently hosted a Centennial
Luncheon for over 200
women at the Rumson
Country Club River House.
The event featured the quite
humorous interior designer
and author, Mario Buatta as
its dynamic guest speaker.

The LVMC has been helping adults attain the literacy skills necessary to
function effectively in all
areas of their lives since
1983. LVMC tutors work
one-on-one with adult students and in small groups
to provide these services
free of charge.

RUMSON-FAIR HAVEN HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDATION HELD ANNUAL SPRING RECEPTION
T
he Martello Family of Rumson recently hosted the Rumson-Fair Haven High School
Foundation’s Spring Fundraising reception which featured catering by Et Al and other
local establishments and jazz music by talented RFH performing arts students.
RFHRHS Foundation board members include (back row, from left): Ray Eckhof f, Lisa

for RFH parents and administrators to come together in a beautiful riverfront setting.

asis tlc, formerly Impact Oasis, recently hosted their annual “Green Ball” at the
Shadowbrook in Shrewsbury. Guests enjoyed a Kentucky Derby theme as they arrived
early to watch the race. The event featured a great silent and live auction and raffles. The
Mission of Oasis tlc is to promote inclusion and acceptance of autistic individuals into their local
communities by establishing environmentally exemplary farm centers that provide meaningful
work, peaceful and healthy residences and community interaction. Mai Clear y (center) is the

RANNEY SCHOOL PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION’S “RACE FOR THE PANTHERS” EVENT

he Ranney School Parents’ Association recently held
its 27th Annual Panther Ball on the Ranney School
campus. Inspired by the Kentucky Derby held that
evening and shown in a transformed RSPA Panther Hall, the
“Race for the Panthers” event brought supporters together
for a spectacular evening of gaming, and silent and chance
auctions in support of the school. The panther is the official
mascot of the Ranney School, located in Tinton Falls.

onmouth Day Care Center will be hosting a Sapphire Celebration to commemorate
the 45th anniversary of the Center, located in Red Bank. The event will take place
on Saturday, May 17th at The Raven and the Peach in Fair Haven from 7-11 p.m. and
will offer silent and live auctions, raffles, a wine toss, and will feature a sapphire signature
cocktail, in which you may have the opportunity to go home with a beautiful sapphire necklace
and matching earrings. Monmouth Day Care Center provides affordable childcare to the local
community and is a non-profit day care center. All funding raised goes directly to support families in need. Pictured left to right are committee members Jennifer Anderson, Debbie

County Historical Association (pictured) recently met at the home of Diane and Ross
Millhiser to kick off plans for the Association’s most significant annual fundraiser,
which boasts over 80 committee members! This much anticipated event will be held on
Sunday, June 29th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the home of Geri and Jim Roper, in Rumson. Garden
Party co-chairs will include Andrea Aikins, Sarah Bradley, Mark Gilber tson, Daren
Hutchinson, Charles Jones and Cour tney Trent. For tickets and information contact Laurie
Bratone at 732-462-1466. The event will feature a silent and 50/50 raffle and live music by a
popular jazz trio. A variety of supporters from NYC and the Two Rivers area will be in
