TRAP PICUSAN® is a trap designed for the monitoring and mass trapping of the Red Palm Weevil (RPW), Rhynchophorus ferrugineus., is a ground trap that does not need to be buried. Its design as a pyramid, the coarse outer surface and the new designed bowl that fits perfectly by clasps make easier for the RPW to climb through a funnel attracted by the lure and fall down to a bowl full of water where they drowned PICUSAN® is an ecological trap FREE FROM INSECTICIDES, easy assembly and maintenance. It could be perfectly combined with another tools and methods against the RPW. TRAP PICUSAN® USER INSTRUCTIONS PICUSAN® CONTENT PICUSAN® trap contains a bowl, a pyramidal body and a green cover assembled on the top of the pyramid holding the lure. ATTRACTANT PHEROSAN Rhynchophorus PICUSAN® trap is baited with our pheromone diffuser PHEROSAN Rhynchophorus. It release the pheromone at an appropriate rate to catch the maximum number of insects. It lasts more than 3 months; once the pheromone has expired a new lure has to be placed replacing the old one in order to keep the efficacy of the trap. IMPORTANT: Do not open the pheromone container lid as at risk of pheromone leaking and loss of efficacy. ASSEMBLY - Join the sort of bowl’s clasp to the pyramidal body as seen in pictures 1 and 2. Then repeat the same operation on the opposite side. - OPTIONAL: Fill the bowl with 2l of water and chunks of palm trunk (3) as they release volatiles which can also attract the RPW. - Join the green cover at the upper part of pyramidal body until a ”click” is heard and fix the pheromone container with PHEROSAN Rhynchophorus (4). 1 4 1 2 3 HOW TO USE PICUSAN® PICUSAN® is a ground trap no burying needed. It must be placed more than 20-m away from palm trees. •In small plots it is recommended to set up the minimum density of 4 traps per hectare, depending on the pest pressure. • In garden centres this density has to be bigger (minimum 8 traps per hectare), reinforcing the border.
