Professional exhibition shooter, Tim Bradley, shows off his shooting skills during a demonstration
at Prince George’s County Trap and Skeet Center, June 6. The USO Warrior and Family Center and
sponsor ATK organized a bus trip from Fort Belvoir to the range where servicemembers and their
Families were treated to a day of free shooting followed by a catered barbeque lunch.
Servicemembers and their Families enjoyed a
day of free shooting and a catered lunch at Prince
George’s County Trap and Skeet Center in early
June. The group boarded a bus at Fort Belvoir and
drove to the range where they were greeted by their
USO Warrior and Family Center hosts and volunteers from sponsor ATK.
They were immediately given a safety briefing,
which included how to load, unload and carry a
shotgun, in addition to lane protocol. The troops
and their Families then witnessed the expert
marksmanship of professional exhibition shooter,
Tim Bradley. Bradley amazed all with the shooting
of clay pigeons, eggs and even vegetables in rapid
succession.
The troops and their Families were broken down
into sub-groups after being provided ear and eye
protection and ammo. Participants then moved to
the appropriate location and shot skeet, trap and/
or sporting clays with rifles provided by the Center.
Novices and pros stood side-by-side and tried to
knock their targets out of the sky and whether it
was their first time or fortieth time, each shooter
had a blast.
