n 16th Feb, President Rtn.
Parthanath SN and other club
members visited the residence of
our Rtn. Abul Vagh to celebrate the
70th year birthday. As we all know,
Rtn. Abuli Vagh is the Mr. Fund Raiser
of our club who has been providing
leadership to the fund raising events
for the past several years.
Rtn. Abuli Vagh cut the cake that was
arranged by the club in the presence
of his family members.
Rotarians Aiyanna, Anil Kumar,
Animesh Chaturvedi, Nagaraj, Jose Mathew, Keerthi kumar, Kiran Kumar, Krishnaswami ML,
Lakshmana Gowda, Sreedhar Raj Urs, Srinath, Sundaram and Ann Jaya Chaturvedi, Ann
Prabha Krishnaswami and Ann Shibha Naharaj were present.
On this occasion, Rtn. Abuli Vagh donated Rs. 5000 towards community services.

‘Outstanding Male Voice' Award

ur own Rtn. PP. Prasad VN won the 'Outstanding Male Voice' award at the Rotary Idol competition
organized by Rotary District 3190 at Bangalore on 8th Feb 2014. Rtn. Prasad was the only Rotarian
from our district 3180. Brindavan and the club members congratulate Rtn. Prasad on his fantastic
achievement and wishes him to win the 'Rotary Idol' contest next year.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING
O
ur Paul Harris Vocational Training Center celebrated the graduation day on 8th Feb 2014 where about thirty five women completed their
course in tailoring, Embroidery, bag making and Beautician courses. A new batch of vocational training was inaugurated on the occasion
that is expected to complete by July 2014. Two women who graduated in this batch spoke about their experiences. One of them mentioned
that the course is useful for them to move to the next level offering those skills to earn a sizeable amount every month and save few thousand
rupees too in using those skills for their requirements too (like stitching for themselves as well as applying beautician course skills on their
daughters etc.). They thanked the tutors Smt. Bharathi and Smt. Rashmi for patiently imparting the basics so that every one learns properly.
Innerwheel West distributed prizes to the winners of the stitching competition. A colourful cultural program brought curtains down the well

injury to left eye. He had
surgical repair a year ago. Now
he was operated for secondary

For a baby aged 5 days, a cyst
was identified in lower portion
of left eye. Diagnosed as
lymphatic cyst- possibly can
disappear on its` own. Advised
to watch closely.

Vocational Service - RTI Workshop

Lead in association with Rotary Mysore West organized a day long workshop on RTI on 15th Feb at V Lead
Campus. Dr. Balasubramanyam and Ms.Poshini handled the sessions and distributed the certificates to 51
participants.
The session was very useful as Dr. Balu gave very useful tips about how we can combat corruption with the help of RTI.

s India celebrates its victory over polio
completing three years without any case
of the debilitating infection the nation
becomes entitled to polio-free certification by
the WHO in March.
President Pranab Mukherjee received Rotary
International's highest award Award of
Honour a recognition for heads of nations or
governments who have rendered unique
service to humanity and served their countries
and people.
“After this historic victory of humankind where
millions of lives have been saved through
tireless efforts of many, we have to take care of
neighbours also. We should commit ourselves
to creating a polio-free world, ” Mr Mukherjee
said at a function marked to celebrate the day.
Mrs. Margaret Chan, Director-General, World
Health Organisation, said, “India has shown the
world that there is no such thing as impossible.
This is likely the greatest lesson, and the
greatest inspiration for the rest of the world.”
