this week we are talking about …
Real Story | I had a very unhealthy marriage, ended up getting a divorce, then
TNT | taking new territory
Just over the next horizon … an adventure
made many bad decisions and developed bad habits that grew out of deep hurt.
When I heard about Celebrate Recovery at KCC, I jumped into it with both feet. I signed
up for a step study and did the work faithfully. It was the best decision of my life! As I
worked through the program and surrounded myself with positive, godly influences,
my old habits began to fall away. I started dealing with hurts and disappointments
that I didn’t even know I had. Each day is exciting because God reveals another area
that I have hidden that He wants to touch. It was so painful to relive those hurts but
the freedom that follows is completely worth it. I now know that I do not need to be
perfect to have a full and complete life nor do I need the approval or love of people to
deem my life valuable. I know in the depths of my being that I am valuable because
I belong to Christ and He truly is more than enough for me. I know I am NEVER, EVER
alone. God is always with me and He WAS always with me through every storm, every
fight, every late night—He was there. Now I have life-long friends who know all my
weaknesses and love me in ways that move me towards God and not farther from
Him. I am spiritually and emotionally more healthy than ever before because God
brought me to Celebrate Recovery to work through the pain and the lies that I had
allowed to control my life.
is waiting. The call to “take new territory”

will be unique for each of us. God may not
call everyone to lead the charge, but He
calls all of us to join it. Courage is required,
but God will be with you in what He calls
you to do. Get ready. The time for Taking
New Territory is now!

Cultivate Experience
GriefShare
The first step in the Cultivate leadership development
training is Essentials, which provides a basic set of
leadership tools. The six-month course examines
biblical leadership examples, applies personality
assessments, identifies spiritual gifts, explores the
participant’s life purpose and grows the ability to
build and manage a team. Other than the Kick-off
Breakfast on Saturday, February 21, classes meet one
Tuesday a month from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. See the full
schedule on our website.
Cultivate Experience, KCC’s internship program, offers
university students a valuable opportunity to work in
a religious sector, non-profit environment. Because
of KCC’s vibrant history of serving the community
for 35 years, these internships enrich the lives (and
résumés!) of those who carry them out. KCC currently
has a new fleet of hard working interns joining us for
the spring semester. Nine students from Cornerstone,
Aquinas, Calvin, Kendall College of Art and Design,
Davenport and Grace Bible College are all gaining
valuable experience by joining the KCC team! Please
be praying for these students as they serve and learn!
