Sheriff Applies for Drug Take Back Collection Box

Special Media Release for January 27, 2015
Thanks to the CVS Pharmacy Healthy Communities Grant Program, Sheriff Crockett has submitted an
application for a free drug disposal box. The box, similar to that shown below, will be used to accept
prescription and over the counter medications. This program is one response to the Governor’s Task Force on
Prescription Drug and Heroin Abuse.
Once installed in the public lobby of the sheriff’s office, anyone may deposit old prescription and nonprescription medicines for safe disposal. The sheriff’s office will be responsible for the installation and
maintenance of the collection box, and the cost, if any, of the actual destruction of the drugs. The local CVS
pharmacies will help to promote the use of the drug collection program.
