"Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that."
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to
forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some
evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

“I have the audacity to believe that
peoples everywhere can have three meals
a day for their bodies, education and
culture for their minds, and dignity,
equality, and freedom for their spirits.”
MLK Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech,
Oslo, Norway, 1964

“Man is man because he is free to operate within the framework of his destiny. He is free
to deliberate, to make decisions, and to choose between alternatives. He is distinguished
from animals by his freedom to do evil or to do good and to walk the high road of beauty
or tread the low road of ugly degeneracy.” Letter from Birmingham, Alabama jail, April
16, 1963.

Message from Anna Brosche
I can’t think of any work more important than building
a bright future for my hometown. As a Jacksonville
native, I want what we all want – for my children to
grow up in a vibrant, diverse community with a
quality education and opportunities for great jobs. I
grew up here, and I hope they’ll choose to stay and
raise their own families here.
I come from a Navy family, and I’m proud to be
married to a Navy officer who has spent 17 years
serving our country. Servant leadership is a strong part of our family culture; we understand
that sometimes, you have to create what you want to be a part of. If you believe in a strong,
diverse, and fiscally sound city, I hope you’ll support me for City Council At-Large Group 1.

Common Sense,
Leadership,
Integrity &
Accountability
“It is time we bring back common
sense to our city government and start working on behalf of the community as
a whole. It is not always how much we spend, but rather more to do with what
we spend it on.”

Foster job growth by supporting our existing industries as well as adding new
companies to our community.
Improve and update our infrastructure without raising taxes.
To work closely with the school district to create a better system of delivering
educational services to every neighborhood.
To work closely with law enforcement to ensure a drop in violent crime by
stressing better police visibility and more community involvement.
My name is Dr. Tony Cummings and I am a native of Jacksonville who has called the First
Coast my home for over 40 years. I have a wonderful wife, Dr. Andrea Cummings, two (2)
beautiful daughters, Kyra and Eleana, and a sharp-eyed K-9 named Rusty. He’s a Chorkie.
That’s a mix of Yorkie/Chihuahua. I know what you’re thinking, but three years ago his breed
was new to me too.

“Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a great man who courageously gathered
people to demand equal rights for all people. We must continue his legacy of
ensuring equality. As he stated, injustice anywhere is a threat to justice
everywhere.”

RE-ELECT REGGIE BROWN, CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT 10
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience,
but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. The true neighbor will risk his
position, his prestige, and even his life for the welfare of others.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.

"The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it
seeks to destroy. Instead of
diminishing evil, it multiplies it.
Through violence you may murder the
liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor
establish the truth. Through violence
you may murder the hater, but you do
not murder hate. In fact, violence
merely increases hate. So it goes.
Returning violence for violence
multiplies violence, adding deeper
darkness to a night already devoid of
stars. Darkness cannot drive out
darkness: only light can do that. Hate
cannot drive out hate: only love can do
that." Where Do We Go from Here:
Chaos or Community? 1967
John Crescimbeni is a well-known fiscal
conservative who has earned a reputation for being
“tight with a dollar.” He demonstrates his
commitment to public service by always doing his
homework and he has never missed a regular City
Council meeting in what is now more than 14 years
of combined service. He continuously takes the lead
on challenging issues facing our city, has a reputation
for always “telling it like it is” and is the only
Council member who hasn’t hired an Executive
Council Assistant, which equates to an annual
savings to taxpayers of more than $75,000.

discerns those inner qualities that make all men human and,
therefore, brothers." –Strength to Love
