Overview
The shoutr.Boxx is a location-based digital content distribution and visitor guidance system that is able to serve
time- and location-specific content with a few metres accuracy at indoor locations.
The shoutr.Boxx system can be integrated invisibly into any space. It does not require any changes to existing
infrastructure and can be used everywhere.
How it works
Static or Dynamic Content plus Analytics
The shoutr.Boxx companion apps are available for
Android and iOS: At the entrance of the venue, visitors will be notified that there is an app to download
that enables them to access location-based, real-time
content. Once inside the venue, when they walk by a
tagged place, visitors will receive a notification that
there is digital content available. With just a single click, they can quickly access that content. It is
streamed to their devices via a local high-speed WiFi
link that allows for distribution of high-quality multimedia in a matter of seconds.
This location scheme requires no a-priori fingerprinting of the location and instead works out of the box.
The shoutr.Boxx system also features an interactive mode where users are able to take part in a survey or leave feedback. This enables venue owners
to gain specific insights from their visitors. Detailed
visitor-centric location and interaction statistics are
available as well. Think venue interest heat map.
The contents that are made available to visitors can be
anything ranging from text over images and videos to
3D animations. This can be static information or can
also be dynamically updated, so things like alerts and
updated time tables can be easily done as well.

The shoutr.App is the interface between
shoutr.Boxx, shoutr.Beacon and the user.
The app receives and displays the content
on mobile devices. Texts, videos and animation are transferred instantly - without the
use of an Internet connection. Everything
that can be done in HTML5 is implementable, so the contents can be static or interactive, text or multi-media.
In case no app is wanted, users can also access the content from shoutr.Boxx systems
through their browser.

Setup Requirements
For a pilot project, a certain amount of shoutr.Beacons
and a single shoutr.Boxx should suffice - one shoutr.
Boxx is able to serve an area of around 2500 sqm, depending on environmental conditions.
The shoutr.Beacons operate on battery power, so can
be easily placed anywhere. The shoutr.Boxx is the only
part of the system that requires socket power.
Some means of informing users about the system
should be there as well, this can be posters or standup displays at the venue.
shoutr labs will provide an account to its Content
Management System so that operators are able to add
contents to the setup.
