Non-members who only reside in New Jersey may become eligible by paying a $20.00 fee for an associate membership, provided by USBC Rule 300c-2. 2 All entrants should have maintained an average of 190 or better at the time of entry or from the season prior to this one. 3 D R E S S C O D E --- All participants must wear full length trousers and a bowling, sport, mock turtle neck or dress shirt with collar (butterfly). Dress slacks, casual trousers and jeans are permitted. No T-shirts, hats, shorts, or sweat pants allowed. 6 The finalists will compete in two-game match play with total pins deciding the winner. Ties will be broken using two more frames like a ninth and tenth frame. Two losses and a contestant is eliminated. 7 USBC rule 328 will not apply in this tournament. An entrant may make a legal delivery of a ball with either hand in any frame of any game. 8 Re-Racks: Two re-racks per game may be requested. Additional reracks must be approved by a tournament official / lane monitor. 9 In addition to prize money, the winner will be offered a reserved paid entry into the National USBC Masters Tournament out of the tournament expense fund. If he/she declines the offer, the entry fee will revert back to the tournament expense fund. 4 All 31 finalists plus the defending champion, who must submit a paid entry, will move into two (2) sixteen player divisions as A1 and A2. Each finalist will be seeded and positioned based on the player's 8-game total pinfall. Division A1 are the 16 odd number (1 to 31) position finalists. Division A2 are the 15 even number (2 to 32) position finalists with the defending champion seeded into the 12th position. The final players (4) from the two winners and losers brackets will merge using the same double-elimination format to determine the New Jersey Masters Champion and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions. 10 Depending on the total of entries, the tournament management committee reserves the right to schedule two or three participants to a lane. 5 Each entrant will bowl an (8) eight-game block across the house, skipping lanes after each game. The seeded champion and remaining 31 qualifiers will compete in the finals using the winners-losers bracket double elimination system. In case of a tie, for 32nd place a one-game roll-off will decide the 32nd qualifier. If a tie still exists, two additional frames shall be bowled and scored like ninth and tenth frames. These frames shall be rolled on the same lanes on which the participants finished the roll-off game. If necessary, continue until the tie is broken. 13 The first 156 mailed or called entries take precedence over all others. Walk-in entries with confirmed telephone reservations with the tournament manager (732) 254-8198 will be honored up to 8:30 A.M. over unreserved walk-in entries who in turn will be accepted to fill any remaining open slots. No refunds for confirmed paid entries who fail to check in or notify the tournament manager prior to 8:30 A.M. 11 Bowlers must wear shoes which will not damage or disfigure the runways. The use of any foreign substance put on bowling shoes or shoes which mar the approaches is strictly prohibited. 12 The tournament management will render on-the-spot decisions when required. All tournament management decisions shall be final except where an appeal is made to the USBC headquarters. 14 Go to www.njbowling.com for schedules and results.
