A Summary Statement on progress made by municipal
:
The majority of the ULBs have failed to implement the activities specified in
authorities in respect of implementation of Schedule-I
Schedule-I of the Rules except identification of suitable landfill sites by 83 ULBs.

Few other ULBs have proposed to set up the waste processing facility. However,
only Puri Municipality has set up waste processing facility (compost plant) earlier.

A Summary Statement on progress made by municipal :
The detail information is given in Annexure-II.
Implementation of various provisions specified in Schedule-II in ULBs is not
authorities in respect of implementation of Schedule-II
satisfactory. However, the Govt. in H & UD Department has taken of the issue,
[Rule-6(1)] and (3), 7(1)]
sanctioned money specifically for implementation by 12th Finance Commission, and
action has been initiated to prepare action plan for the ULBs based on the local
requirement, size of the ULBs, waste generation etc.

A Summary Statement on progress made by Municipal :
In spite of repeated request 83 ULBs have identified the suitable site for setting up
authorities in respect of implementation of Schedule-
waste processing facility out of 110 ULBs. The Board has been requesting all ULBs

to identify the suitable site for setting up waste processing & disposal facility
involving the Regional Officer of the Board and Revenue Authority of Govt. and all
Districts Collectors’ have been requested by the Revenue Department to take
appropriate action for identification of suitable land including its alienation in favour
of ULBs.
As regards setting up well-designed landfill facility and improvement of the existing
disposal site, the action by ULBs is under progress.

As regards setting up waste processing facility, the action by ULBs is very
