Professor Philippe RUSZNIEWSKI
Head of The Gastroenterology and Pancreatology
Department Beaujon Hospital- Paris Diderot University
Professor Philippe RUSZNIEWSKI is currently Head of the
Department of Gastroenterology-Pancreatology in Beaujon’s
Hospital, Clichy, France, and Professor of Gastroenterology
at University Paris 7, Denis-Diderot. His is also responsible for
the Pole of Liver, Digestive and Pancreatic Diseases located
in Beaujon, Bichat and Louis-Mourier Hospitals. His main areas of interest are
digestive neuroendocrine tumors and pancreatic diseases (mainly pancreatic
cancer, intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms, acute and chronic pancreatitis).
He has published more than 350 papers in international Journals and serves as a
reviewer for leading journals in gastroenterology. He is past President of the French
Society of Gastroenterology, and a member of numerous societies in the field of
Gastroenterology, Pancreatology and Digestive Oncology. While he served as
President of the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) between 2010
and 2012, he is currenly ENETS Vice Chairman.
Dr. Mahmoud El Ansary
Assistant Professor of Hepatogastroenterology in Theodor
Bilharz Research Institute
Dr Mahmoud El Ansary is an Ass.Prof. of Hepatology and
gastroenterology. He is interested in Pancreato-biliary
disorders,in Abdominal Ultrasound and Doppler studies in Portal
hypertension, in therapeutic aspect of ultrasound, in Endoscopy
and therapeutic aspect (including ERCP). He is interested in
Endoscopic Ultrasound and he is sharing in establishing this technique at TBRI .
Professor Valerie Paradis
Professeur des Universités- Praticien Hospitalier in Pathology

Professor Paradis joined the Pathological department of Beaujon
hospital in 2002 to mainly take over pathological activity from
Liver surgery and liver transplantation (Pr J Belghiti, Pr D Valla &F
Durand). From 2008 to date, she have been the co-leader with
Pr P Bedossa of the research team “From cirrhosis to cancer:
Physiopathology and diagnosis” (Inserm U773 CRB3). For the next 5-year INSERM
contract (2014-), she leads one of the teams belonging to the Research Center on
Inflammation (INSERM U1149, Director Pr R Monteiro). She is an Elected member
:CNU (national council of University) 2010-, Scientific commissions Research
Institutes INSERM CSS6 (2008-2012), ANRS CSS4 (2011-), Association Française de
l’Etude du Foie (AFEF 2012-), administrative board, European Society of Pathology
Digestive Diseases Working Group (Secretary, 2011-) . She received a Personal
Awards : Lauréate de la prime d’excellence scientifique (2009).
Dr. Pierre-Emmanuel RAUTOU
Assistant Professor of Hepatology Beaujon Hospital Paris Diderot University
Dr : Pierre-Emmanuel Rautou (MD, PhD) graduated from
Bordeaux Medical School in 2003. He completed his
residency in Hepatology and Gastroenterology in Assistance
PubliqueHôpitaux-de-Paris until 2009 and received his medical
degree from the University of ParisVII. He spent 4 years as a
research fellow at the INSERM Unit 970 in the laboratory of Drs AlainTedgui and
Chantal Boulanger (Paris Cardiovascular Research Center @HEGP) where he studied
the effects of cell derived microparticles on endothelial cells. He earned his Doctoral
degree in vascular biology and haemostasis in 2011 from the University of Paris-VII. He
then joined the haemostasis laboratory of Prof. Nigel Mackman at University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA) where he studied the role tissue factor in chronic liver
diseases.In 2012, Dr Rautou joined the department of Hepatology at the University
of Paris-VII(Hôpital Beaujon, Clichy, France) as Assistant Professor to take the lead of
the splanchnichemodynamic laboratory. He is also researcher at the INSERM Unit 970
(ParisCardiovascular Research Center @HEGP) in a team dedicated to endothelial cell
biology.Pierre-Emmanuel Rautou is member of the French Association for the Study
of the Liver (AFEF). He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Hepatology.
He became memberof the EASL young investigator concerted action group in 2013.
Professor Gamal ESMAT
Professor of Tropical Medicine and Hepatology in
Cairo University .
The Founder of Hepatitis Treatment Centers in Egypt.
Professor Gamal ESMAT Is the Professor of Hepatology and
Endemic Medicine in faculty of Medicine Cairo University.
He is the vice-president of Cairo University for graduate studies
and research. He took the State award from Academy of Scientific Research, Egypt
in the field of Medical science in 2010.
Professor Esmat was the former President of International Association for study
of liver diseases 2006 – 2008; he is a member of WHO strategic and advisory
committee for viral hepatitis and the founder of Viral Hepatitis Treatment Center
MOH. His number of International publications in Scopus reached 121 and
citations1473, H-index 22.
