Progressive system Weigh-in-Motion is based on loop detectors combined
with road sensors and WIM core module. Software solution CROSS enables
on-line measurement and immediate validation and also direct enforcement
depending on local legislation.

CrossWIM is high-speed weigh-in-motion system, which
covers all current requirements for traffic detection and
dynamic weighing system. CrossWIM is used for traffic
statistics, pre-selection and direct enforcement.

The system was developed to cover the most demanding and
broad requirements with respect to accuracy, reliability, software
features, multi-line free-flow functionality and also long lifetime in
daily traffic on the road network.

License Plate Recognition (LPR)
Overview cameras
The CrossWIM system can be fully integrated with automatic license plate
recognition systems. The data is consequently available for the police in real
time and it can be used for vehicle pre-selection or direct enforcement.
These cameras take color photos
or live-stream videos and can also
be used for night vision.

Vehicle size measurement sensor
Variable Message Signs (VMS)
Vehicles size measurement (especially high vehicles) in
3D mode. The sensor can also be used for vehicle speed
measurement or vehicle classification, plus combine and
evaluate the data in the CrossWIM core system.
Variable Message Signs are mostly used in the
pre‑selection mode. This enables overloaded vehicles
to be diverted from the road and can display weight
and license plates.

functions for monitoring, statistics, controlling

The web interface is designed for
operation by end users (typically road
administration), for system administrators
or enforcement staff (e.g. police).
Vehicle browser
The main module of the web application is
the so called Watchdesk. This is an easily
controllable console, in which measured vehicles
are displayed online, including the view and
indication of the offence. After that is possible
for every recorded vehicle displayed detailed
information, as e.g. number of axles, wheeled
weight, wheeled speed, validation.

CrossWIM on the bridge
Direct enforcement
In 2011 CROSS Zlin as the first in Czech Republic
and EU certified CrossWIM as an instrument for
direct enforcement based on high speed control
weighing. The device can be used for automatic
weighing of vehicles in motion with an accuracy
of ± 5% on the total weight of the vehicle and
± 11% on a single axle.

CrossWIM is in accordance with the applicable legislation
of the Czech Republic used for automatic ticketing of
overloaded vehicles.
Thanks to automatic fining it has led to
substantial improvement in enforcement and
prosecution and simultaneously to protection
of the roads from damage due to overloaded
vehicles, which dramatically increases lifespan
and leads to significant savings on repairs.
