In this EPA approved program, topics will include
CFC containment methods, legal requirements,
existing and new refrigerants, and basic
understanding of the refrigeration cycle and
system components.
CFC Test/Retest Only
NAPEEF is a certifying organization for the EPA
Technician Certification exam in accordance with
Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.
Dates: Test sessions on the following dates at
2:00pm: Sep 26; Oct 24; Nov 21.
No PO#’s accepted for payment. Pre-registration is
preferred, but same day registration no later than
1:00pm is allowed.
Fee: 1st Test $90, Retest $70 (if last test taken
within three months)
Students can view a video FREE of charge
before 2:00pm by appointment
AC “Hands-On” Troubleshooting Tips
and Techniques
Prerequisites: Completion of AC I or be currently
enrolled in AC I. This two-day seminar begins with
a review of the system components and their effect
on superheat, sub-cooling, and the operation of
the AC unit. Each component will be explored,
including possible causes of failure. Alternating
classroom and time in the AC Lab, students will
be able to directly apply new knowledge and
skills This seminar is designed to enhance the
troubleshooting skills to save time and money
when an AC unit is not operating at full capacity.
This seminar is strictly limited to 16 participants to
ensure the quality of the lab experience.

HVAC Preventive Maintenance Seminar
Prerequisites: Completion of AC II or be currently
enrolled in AC II. This hands-on seminar is
designed for HVAC technicians working in a
building or on a service truck. Participants will
fill out a check list (sample provided) for the
customer or to remian at the property with system
information and readings. Topics covered include
mechanical, airflow, refrigerant, and electrical
components. Upon completion attendees will
be able to perform a first-rate HVAC PM and
provide customers with confirmation of their
equipment status, keeping operating costs low
and minimizing expensive repairs.

HVAC Electrical Wiring Seminar
Prerequisites: AC I or 2 years experience
and CFC Universal. This seminar will cover
characteristics (pressures, etc.) of 410-A;
evacuation requirements; servicing; installation;
disposal; safety; cylinders, etc. The seminar is an
exam preparation for NAPE’s 410-A Certification
test, which is administered at the end of the
seminar.

Prerequisites: Completion of AC I or be currently
enrolled in AC I. This hands-on seminar will enable
students to understand the wiring in a basic air
conditioning/heating system. Paricipants will
develop their own wiring diagram and the convert
it into a ladder diagram. Upon completion students
will wire up the components on a simulator board,
including relays, contactors, condenser and
evaporator fan motors, compressor, and safety
switches.
