For sale: AI Capone's former Miami home for $8.5M
lO,ooo-square-foot, 7-bedroom estate includes private beach
By Richa N aik

NEW YORK (CNNMoney)
He was "Public Enemy Number One," with a penchant for violence. Now AI Capone's Miami Beach hideaway is
for sale again for $8.5 million.
The sprawling 1O,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom estate sits on the exclusive Palm Island. It includes a main
house, a two-story guest house, a pool and a private beach.
Capone bought the mansion, built in 1922 by Clarence Busch (no relation to the Anheuser-Busch family), in the
early 1920S for $40,000. He invested a considerable amount renovating the property, adding a cabana, an
above ground swimming pool, heavy wooden doors, concrete walls and a guard house, according to Paul
George, a history professor at Miami Dade College.
Capone returned to the estate in 1940 following his release from AIcatraz and died in the home in 1947
Following his death, Capone's wife, Mae, and son, AI Jr. , lived there.
The title of the house disappeared and finally reappeared in 1971 when Hank Morrison, a retired Delta airlines
pilot bought the mansion for $70,000, according to George. "The house was in ramshackle condition," he said .

WLRN hosts 4th Annual RTL Science Dayan 2-26-14
WLRN Education is hosting the 4th Annual RTL Science Day at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden on Wednesday, February 26th from 9am-1pm. There will be 250+ K-2 students, teachers, parents and chaperones from Toussaint Louverture Elementary and Riverside Elementary Schools attending the event. WLRN's goal is to encourage exploration, discovery and science readiness . We want children to think, talk, learn and work the way scientists do - by building on their natural curiosity about the world. Science is all around us - we all interact with and are capable of learning about scientific concepts in fun and enjoyable ways . With Fairchild Garden as the backdrop, teachers and students will develop a better understanding and appreciation for Science. They will have active, hands on, minds-on experiences, as well as research and problem-solving opportunities. Field study at the garden will also develop students' abilities to ask questions, collect information, and organize and test ideas about what they learn in their classrooms. For the Children , this will be their first field study trip . For many of the adults, this will be their first visit to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. WLRN staff and volunteers are also invited to come to the event (work schedule permitting) --- extra hands and eyes to help keep track of the students. It is also an excellent opportunity to see first-hand how WLRN's educational programming and services impact the children, teachers and parents in our community. Please let us know if you plan to attend -. be at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (10901 Old Cutler Road Coral Gables, FL 33156 ) no later than 8:30 a.m. The school buses start arriving at 9am. The 2014 RTL Science Day Event is made possible through a grant from the Lady Suzanna P. Tweed and Carleton Tweed Charitable Foundation . The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart immerses audiences in a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience. The show is filled with rhyming couplets, whiskey shots and wittily
wild karaoke as Prudencia's story unfolds among and around them. This
story of love, music and the Devil takes up residence for six
performances at Bar 337 (formerly PAX), a bar at the intersection of
Little Havana and Brickell from Wednesday, February 19 through Sunday,
February 23, 2014 .
One wintry morning, Prudencia Hart, an uptight academic, sets off to attend a conference in th e Scottish Borders, the region of Scotland that borders England. habitaciones, y esta ubicada en la exclusiva Palm Island.
