This year features a Style House Gathering for all former members of Style House as well as reuniting those who left the school either 50, 25 or 5 years ago (1965, 1989 and 2010.) In a new departure, the day will begin with the Chapel service at 10.30 prior to coffee in the Sharpe Library and tours of the School given by members of the Lower Sixth. Date 11 April 2015 Time 18:30 to 23:00 HMS Belfast, London Cost£90 The London Dinner this year is aboard HMS Belfast! In a fitting location to recognise the contribution of OGs to The Second World War which ended 70 years ago. We will dine in The Ship’s Company Dining Hall where the crew of HMS Belfast gathered for their meals before events in history like the Battle of the North Cape and the D-Day barrage. The three course meal will be preceeded by a sparkling wine reception, table wine will be an additional cost. Prior to the dinner (7.30) guests will have access to the Arctic Mess Decks and the main exhibition area from 6.30pm. Included in this are the permanent exhibitions ‘Life at Sea’ and ‘War and Peace’. Guests will also be able to walk on the outside decks. Given that this was once a fighting ship, sensible footwear for ladies might be an advantage! The Doubletree by Hilton, Westminster Hotel. Following last year’s first cycle ride, there will be a Gigg to Gigg cycle ride for those of all abilities who prefer their exercise on 2 wheels. As usual OG cricketers will be playing the School whilst tennis and clay pigeon shooting takes place nearby. The swimming pool will be open for families in the afternoon. The day will end, of course, with tea on top pitch where visitors can enjoy the final overs of the cricket match whilst sharing news and reminiscences with old friends.
