Youth Action Grants FAQs - Toronto Community Housing

Youth Action Grants FAQs
What is Focus on Youth?
Building on our 2013 Year of the Youth, in 2014 Toronto Community Housing is continuing to invest in
strategies that engage youth in positive activities that lead to personal growth and community
development in the areas of safety, leadership engagement, recreation, and economic development.
What are the Youth Action Grants?
The Youth Action Grants were created as part of our 2013 Year of the Youth program to recognize the
creative and innovative ideas youth have to improve their communities. This year, we will award grants
up to $2,500 each.
Why is Toronto Community Housing offering this program?
Youth Action Grants will connect youth across the city to the services and programs they need and
want. These grants will also identify innovative ideas and will support youth who have the drive to
create meaningful change in their communities.
Groups that receive grants will be eligible for additional funding to expand their projects. This funding
will be announced and awarded at Toronto Community Housing’s second annual If I Ruled TO Youth
Summit, which will be held this fall.
