概要
改正個人情報保護法の全面施行を本年
5 月 30 日に控え、また、来年 5 月に
施行される欧州一般データ保護規則
が欧州内の市民の個人情報を顧客、
ユーザー又は従業員等の情報として
取扱う日本企業に対応準備を迫って
おります。
本セミナーでは、個人情報保護委員会
事務局より講師をお招きし改正の概要を
ご説明いただくとともに、日本、EU、
英国のデータ保護法制に携わっている
弁護士から各法域の最新トピック及び
留意点等をご説明いたします。

2018 年 5 月に施行される EU 一般データ保護規則（GDPR）により EU 全域をカバーする単一のデータ保護法制が成立します。これにより従前の法制
のさまざまな側面が影響を受け、日本企業など EU 域外の企業も EU 域内に向けてサービスを提供する場合には GDPR の遵守が求められます。
それゆえ、日本企業も GDPR 施行に向けて速やかな対応が迫られております。本セミナーでは、EU におけるデータ保護法制の現状、GDPR の主な改正

Mr. Ochiai will discuss;
1) the current state of debate regarding data utilization in Japan, including PDS (Personal Data Store), information banks, and trending topics with reference
to data portability rights in the EU,
2) privacy rights from the perspective of individual consent, and issues surrounding profiling and the right to be forgotten, and
3) proprietary rights in data and data protection under the Japanese Unfair Competition Prevention Act.
The GDPR, entering into force in May 2018, will result in a single harmonized data protection law across the EU. The regulation will significantly change
various aspects of today’ s data protection laws. Even non-EU entities will be required to comply with EU data protection law when offering services in the EU.
Companies therefore need to familiarise themselves with the new regime as soon as possible. Starting with an overview of current data protection laws on a
European level, Mr. Bussche will outline the relevant changes in detail. His presentation focuses on the organizational and material requirements of the GDPR,
from general privacy requirements to breach notifications and data transfer requirements. He will also discuss rights of data subjects and highlight the benefits
of the new law for international groups of companies. The presentation will conclude with a practical approach to the implementation of the GDPR.
Mr. Morgan will focus on the likely effects of Brexit from the perspective of data protection such as;
• What will happen in relation to UK data protection regulation during the Brexit process?
• How will UK data protection regulation work after Brexit?
• How will this affect processing of personal data in the UK?
• How will this affect transfers of personal data into or out of the UK?
• Will the UK still be a good place to process personal data relating to Europe generally?
• What are the key risks?
