Background

EB 65 adopted:
‒ CDM project standard (PS)
 Requirements for PPs in designing and implementing
projects/PoAs
‒ CDM validation and verification standard (VVS)
 Requirements for DOEs in validating projects and verifying
emission reductions
‒ CDM project cycle procedure (PCP)
 Administrative steps to register projects/PoAs and issue
CERs
•
PS, VVS and PCP consolidate all relevant requirements in
previously existed various EB documents as well as created new
or modified processes

Implementation status
•
New process (VVS track) is fully up and running from May 2012 as
planned in time, including:
− New direct communication with DOEs/PPs at the completeness
check, information and reporting check, and review stages
− New post registration change process
− Modified process for requests for deviation from approved
methodologies
•
Training on the PS-VVS-PCP to DOEs, and information
dissemination to other stakeholders have been conducted
•
Clarification requests from stakeholders on the applicability of
regulations (e.g. PDD forms) of the VVM track and VVS track have
been responded to

Stakeholders input
•
Postponement of deadline for submissions under the VVM track
has been requested by project participants on various occasions,
including:
− Input on EB 68 annotations: postpone until 31 January 2013
(PD Forum)

Expectations from the Board
The Board is expected to:
•
Take note of the status of implementation of PS, VVS and PCP
•
Consider the request for postponement of the deadline for
submissions under the VVM track
