INFORMATION
ERASMUS MMXVI is dedicated to the «model
European», Erasmus of Rotterdam. The Basel
Historical Museum ( HMB) invited the artist
Florian Graf (* 1980) to create a project paying
homage to the great Humanist as a tie-in
with the exhibition. Graf suggested floating
a sculpture down the Rhine from Basel to
Rotterdam, symbolically linking the city where
Erasmus died with the city where he was born
and providing a platform for panel discussions
and festivities along the way.
