Showcase of sculpture and ceramics of Yasumitsu Morito
○Artist biography
NYC-based artist Yasumitus Morito, has exhibited in various galleries in New York,
including solo shows at the Bill Hodges Gallery and Resobox Gallery as well as
numerous group shows.
Morito's work has been featured in various publications
such as the Wall Street Journal, NY1, The Smithsonian and the Consulate General of
Japan. He hails from the ceramics district of Mashiko in the Tochigi Prefecture of
Japan where traditional ceramics has always been practiced.
He was awarded the
title of Cultural Ambassador of the Tochigi Prefecture in New York by the governor.
He teaches at the Art Students League of New York.
