The Theory and Methodology of Strength Training
This talk will focus on principles of resistance training (with particular emphasis on acute program variables) and how they
relate to developing training programs for athletes. In addition, the importance of chronic program manipulation with the
focus of peaking at the appropriate time will also be examined.
The Basic Practice of Strength Training (Practical)
This practical experience will focus on teaching Olympic movements and the incorporation of ballistic exercises into the
traditional resistance training program. Emphasis will be on appropriate technique, exercise modification for specific
athletes and exercise progression.
