SOS MEDITERRANEE ist eine europäische zivilgesellschaftliche Organisation zur Rettung
Schiffbrüchiger im Mittelmeer. Ziel ist eine nachhaltige und durch die Zivilgesellschaft getragene
Seenotrettung aufzubauen. Seit Februar 2016 beteiligt sich SOS MEDITERRANEE mit einem ersten
Rettungsschiff, der Aquarius, an Rettungseinsätzen im Mittelmeer. SOS MEDITERRANEE Deutschland
arbeitet eng mit Partnerorganisationen in Frankreich und Italien zusammen.
Für die Weiterentwicklung unserer Organisation suchen wir zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine/n
Geschäftsführer / Geschäftsführerin
Ihre Aufgaben








Leitung der Geschäftsstelle in Berlin
Strategische und operative Weiterentwicklung der Organisation, insbesondere im Bereich
von Kooperationen sowie dem Management einer Fundraising- und Spendenstruktur
Weiterentwicklung der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit
Koordination und Zusammenarbeit mit den europäischen Partnern
Akquise privater und öffentlicher Mittel
Mitwirkung bei der Planung und Kontrolle der Finanzen auf europäischer Ebene
Aufbau eines Qualitätsmanagements
Personalmanagement inkl. dem Aufbau und Auswahl von Schlüsselfunktionen sowie der
Steuerung eines Teams von Haupt- und Ehrenamtlichen
Ihre Qualifikation







Sie verfügen über mehrjährige Erfahrung in einer Führungsposition einer NGO, idealerweise
im Feld der humanitären Arbeit. Sie sind vertraut mit der Leitung teils ehrenamtlicher
Mitarbeiter*innen in dezentralen Strukturen.
Sie sind mit den Herausforderungen der Gründung einer internationalen Organisation
vertraut und haben weitreichende Erfahrungen im Aufbau von Strukturen.
Sie können Netzwerke knüpfen und kennen die relevanten Themen sowie Institutionen, um
ergebnisorientiert und effizient zu arbeiten.
Sie verfügen über hervorragende Kommunikationsfähigkeiten nach innen und außen. Ein
ausgeprägtes Planungs- und Organisationsvermögen zeichnet Sie aus. Sie besitzen eine hohe
Strategie-, Analyse- und Reflexionsfähigkeit.
Sie sind erfahren in der Bewirtschaftung größerer Budgets und ggf. in der Verwaltung von
öffentlichen Mitteln.
Sie sind teamfähig und erfahren im Umgang mit Stress- und Konfliktsituationen.
Die Arbeit in internationalen Projekten ist ihnen vertraut. Sie sind verhandlungssicher in
Deutsch und Englisch. Französischkenntnisse sind erwünscht.
Proaktives, eigenverantwortliches Arbeiten und die Bereitschaft für Dienstreisen sind für Sie
selbstverständlich. In unserem Team erwarten Sie verantwortungsvolle abwechslungsreiche

SOS MEDITERRANEE is an association of European citizens to rescue refugees in distress in the
Mediterranean Sea. Our mission is to develop a sustainable and civilian based sea rescue service.
Since February 2016, SOS MEDITERRANEE has been part of rescue operations in the Mediterranean
Sea operating the rescue ship Aquarius. SOS MEDITERRANEE Germany closely co-operates with its
associated French and Italian partners.

Responsiblities








Managing the operations in the office in Berlin
Strategic and operational development of the organization with special focus on partnerships
and a fund raising set-up
Advancement of public relation activities
Coordination and collaboration with the European associated partners
Acquisition of private and public donations
Contribution to financial planning and controlling across the European associations
Development of a quality management system
Human resource management including the recruitment of key functions and leadership of a
team of employees & volunteers
Qualifications








Several years of experience in a management position of an NGO, ideally in the field of
humanitarian work. You are familiar with leading a mixed team including volunteers in
decentralized structures.
You are familiar with the challenges of founding an international organization and have
extensive experience in establishing corresponding structures.
Proven ability to build and work in networks and to successfully maintain stakeholder
relations.
Your exceptional internal and external communication skills are paired with the ability to
plan and organize. You have a conceptual and result oriented approach.
Demonstrated responsibility for the management of extensive budgets and knowledge in
public funds management.
You are a team player and experienced in handling conflict and stress situations.
You are familiar with working in an international environment.
Ability to negotiate fluently in German and English; French skills are beneficia.l
