In cultural policy, governments transfer more and more management responsibilities to cultural
organisations. A strongly changing world forces musicians to deal with more risks and to find creative
solutions for audience development. During the workshop current aspects of cultural Entrepreneurship
are explained and applied in small groups. The participants work on topics like creativity, collaboration,
community art and especially the value of the creative sector for business and society. Last but not least
we deal with the question how to finance entrepreneurial projects.

The workshop addresses people professionally active in music, especially students of music, who wish
to enhance their ability to manage their (future) professional activities.
Frans Brouwer is a very experienced and succesful cultural manager and festival curator in the field
of music as well as a much admired coach and teacher at unviersities. Since 2010 he is on the faculty of
the sought after international study programme "Cultural Economics and
Entrepreneurship" at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (NL).
