VACANCY NOTICE Reference Number 25/2016 The University of Erfurt is a humanities- and social-sciences orientated reform university located in the centre of Germany. The university's innovative range of B.A.-, M.A.- and PhD-programmes fully implements Bologna structures and principles also in the field of teacher's training. The Faculty of Education is currently seeking applicants for the position of Full Professorship (W3) in Inclusive Educational Processes with Focus on Emotional and Social Development Field of Activities The professorship represents topics of inclusive educational processes with focus on emotional and social development in curricular and extracurricular contexts in teaching and research. The holder of the position will be responsible for: • contributing to the contents of special / inclusive education courses in the relevant range of programmes at the University of Erfurt, supervising final projects; • carrying out research activities in the field of inclusion according to the denomination; collaboration at the Competence and Development Centre for Teacher Training; Requirements The successful candidate is expected to meet the following criteria in particular: • an above-average dissertation; • the proof of relevant habilitation or equivalent scientific achievements accomplished through relevant publications (preferably peer-reviewed); • relevant publications (preferably peer-reviewed) on the topic of inclusive education with regard to the emotional and social development; • the pedagogical aptitude for academic teaching; • broad skills and experience in research methodology, personal experience in empirical educational research is of advantage; • competence and experience in counselling (preferably systemic counselling); experience in third-party fundraising is desirable; Notes Besides the general administrative requirements, proof must be provided that the requirements for employment imposed by § 77 of the Thuringian Higher Education Act (Thüringer Hochschulgesetz) are fulfilled. It should be noted that, in case of an initial appointment to a professorial position, the employment will usually first be for a fixed-term only. Further details are stipulated in § 79 of the Thuringian Higher Education Act (Thüringer Hochschulgesetz). The University of Erfurt aims to increase the proportion of female professors.
