NEU Ghost Ship
~ 45-minütige Schifffahrten begleitend zum Berliner Lichterfest ~
Das Geisterschiff ist in Berlin eingetroffen.
Vor Anker im Osthafen liegt das Segelschiff aus dem 17.
Jahrhundert bewegungslos auf dem Wasserspiegel. Wenn
Wind aufkommt, erwacht es zum Leben: Die Segel straffen
sich und der Clipper schwankt hin und her.
Wenn der Wind auffrischt und gegen die Wasserstrahlen bläst, beginnt das Bild zu zittern und es
erscheint fast, wie ein Magnetfeld zu betrachten.
Visual Skin - ein junges Architekturkollektiv aus Rumänien
- hat die Illusion eines 3D-Objekts mit zwei sich kreuzenden
planaren Projektionen hervorgebracht. Die extrem grüne und
fast gruselige (Geister-)Erscheinung wird auf vertikale
Wasseroberflächen gestrahlt. Der Wind spielt eine wichtige
Rolle bei der Erreichung des gewünschten gespenstischen
und traumähnlichen Effekts.

NEW Ghost Ship
~ 45-min. tours - accompanying
to the „Berliner Lichterfest“ ~
The Ghost Ship has arrived in Berlin.
Anchored in front of the Osthafen landing stage the 17th
century ghost ship rests motionless on the surface of the
water. When the wind picks up, the ship comes to life; its
sails fill and the vessel sways back and forth.
When the wind picks up and blows against the streams
of water, the image shakes and it’s almost like we are
looking at a magnetic field.
Visual Skin - a young, four-man-strong architecture collective
from Romania - has created the illusion of a 3D object with
two intersectar planar projections, much like the method used
to create trees in old video games.
The very green and almost creepy apparition is beamed onto
vertical, perpendicular planes of water. The wind plays an important role in achieving the desired ghostly and dreamy
effect.
