Mary Wigman, Dore Hoyer und Pina Bausch haben in Susanne Linke ein
Bewegungsgedächtnis hinterlassen, das sie konsequent gepflegt und erweitert
hat. Sie ist ein lebendes Tanzarchiv und ergänzt die Vergangenheit mit ihrer
Persönlichkeit. Susanne Linke hat ihre zeitlose und sehr physische Technik
strukturiert und praktiziert sie konsequent. Der Workshop dient der Recherche
und Dokumentation ihrer Technik Inner Suspension.
Susanne Linke erhielt ihre Tanzausbildung bei Mary Wigman in Berlin, bevor sie
an der Folkwang Hochschule in Essen studierte und dann Tänzerin im Folkwang
Tanz Studio unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Pina Bausch war. Seit Mitte der
80er Jahre verfolgte sie ihre internationale Solokarriere als Tänzerin und
Choreografin. Anfang der 90er Jahre wurde sie Artist-in-Residence des HebbelTheaters in Berlin (heute HAU Hebbel am Ufer). Von 1994 bis 2000 war sie
Leiterin des Tanztheaters am Bremer Theater. 2000/01 war sie Mitgründerin des
Choreographischen Zentrums Essen und wurde dessen künstlerische Leiterin. Ab
2001 arbeitete Susanne Linke wieder als freischaffende Choreografin und
Tänzerin. Seit der Spielzeit 2015/16 ist Susanne Linke künstlerische Leiterin der
Sparte Tanz am Theater Trier.
A rare chance to experience Susanne Linke’s working practice in a pure
technique workshop. Susanne Linke’s movement technique is both an archive of
the body language of Mary Wigman, Dore Hoyer, Pina Bausch, and unique for her
constant development of these practices. The workshop is part of a research and
documentation project about her technique Inner Suspension.
Susanne Linke was educated in Dance by Mary Wigman in Berlin before she
studied at the Folkwang School in Essen and then became a dancer at the
Folkwang Dance Studio; Pina Bausch was its artistic director. Since the mid1980s, she pursued her international solo career as a dancer and choreographer.
At the beginning of the 1990s, she became an artist in residence at the Hebbel
Theater in Berlin (now HAU Hebbel am Ufer). From 1994 to 2000, she was the
director of the dance theatre at the Bremen Theatre. In 2000/01, she became a
co-founder of the Choreographic Centre Essen and served as its artistic director.
From 2001 onwards, Susanne Linke has again been working as an independent
choreographer and dancer. Since the 2015/16 season, Susanne Linke has been
the artistic director of the dance department of the Trier Theatre.
