Die kurzen Texte sind fast wörtlich aus dem Heft übernommen, deshalb werden die Kinder viele Begriffe und
Wendungen wiedererkennen. Es geht nicht darum, jedes einzelne Wort zu verstehen, sondern die Lösung aus
dem Textzusammenhang zu finden.
Lösung:
John – Mario Kart 8, Mary – Olaf’s Adventures, Jeff – Pokémon Art Academy, Lisa – Lego Star Wars

Die Buchstaben zu entwirren sollte kein größeres Problem sein.
Wichtig dabei: die Wendung „I’m afraid of + noun“ einzuüben.
Lösung:
1. spiders, 2. snakes, 3. ghosts, 4. dogs, 5. birds, 6. darkness, 7. vampires
●●What do they do?
Bei dieser Übung geht es darum, nouns und verbs richtig zu verbinden. Diese chunks sind wichtig für den
Ausbau des Wortschatzes und helfen bei der Satzbildung.
Eine Variante: möglichst lange Sätze formen, dabei dürfen aber nur Verben vorkommen, die zum Substantiv
passen.
Lösung:
Dogs bark, run and jump.
Ghosts fly, scream and scare.
Spiders bite and climb.
