Filmprogramm PDF

Im Rahmen der Ausstellung FUTURE PRESENT zeigt das Schaulager
von September 2015 bis Januar 2016 ein Begleitprogramm mit
Filmporträts zu Künstlerinnen und Künstlern, die in der Sammlung
der Emanuel Hoffmann-Stiftung und in der Ausstellung vertreten
sind. Als Auftakt der breiten Filmauswahl – sie umfasst künstlerische
Positionen vom frühen 20. Jahrhundert bis in die Gegenwart – wird
der Fokus mit Pablo Picasso und Georges Braque auf den Kubismus
gerichtet. Weitere Programmblöcke sind Schweizer Kunstschaffenden
(Alberto Giacometti, Peter Fischli und David Weiss, Miriam Cahn),
zeitgenössischen britischen Künstlerinnen und Künstlern (Tacita
Dean, Mark Wallinger, Jane & Louise Wilson), den Surrealisten sowie
singulären Künstlern wie Joseph Beuys oder Dieter Roth gewidmet.
From September 2015 to January 2016 Schaulager presents a film
programme to accompany the exhibtion FUTURE PRESENT,
featuring portraits of artists represented in the collection of the
Emanuel Hoffmann Foundation and in the exhibition. Encompassing
artistic positions from the early twentieth century to the present,
the wide selection of films opens by focusing on Cubism with
treatments of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. Further programme sections are devoted to Swiss artists (Alberto Giacometti,
Peter Fischli and David Weiss, Miriam Cahn), contemporary
British artists (Tacita Dean, Jane & Louise Wilson, Mark Wallinger)
and the Surrealists, along with singular artists like Joseph Beuys
or Dieter Roth.
Gezeigt werden Filme, die einen wichtigen Beitrag zum Verständnis
der porträtierten Künstlerinnen und Künstler leisten, von Klassikern wie den Giacometti-Filmen aus den 1960er-Jahren, über fundierte Fernsehproduktionen bis zu Produktionen, die auf zeitgenössische
Rezeptionsweisen reagieren und für das Internet konzipiert sind.
Das Filmprogramm erlaubt zudem, die Entwicklung des tendenziell
unterschätzten Genres des audiovisuellen Künstlerporträts über den
Zeitraum eines halben Jahrhunderts zu verfolgen.
The films shown all make important contributions to the understanding of the portrayed artists, from classics such as the
Giacometti films in the 1960s to in-depth television documentaries,
up to productions conceived for the Internet in response to contemporary modes of reception. The film programme also provides
an opportunity to trace the development of the often undervalued
genre of audiovisual artist portraits over the course of a halfcentury.
Das Filmprogramm wird jeweils am Sonntagnachmittag gezeigt und ist
im Eintrittspreis der Ausstellung inbegriffen.
