http://www.youngscience.at/young_citizen_science/citizen_science_award_2015/ (updated 21.03.2016) Award 2015 150 school classes from the whole of Austria competed in research In October 2015 ALL Austrian pupils had the opportunity to take part in current research projects for the first time. School classes all over Austria were able to contribute to Austrian research and in doing so to win up to 3,000 euros towards their class funds. The awards In each project there was • a main prize amounting to 1,500 euros, • a second prize amounting to 1,000 euros, and • a third prize amounting to 500 euros towards the class funds. In the project FarbVerrückt there were two categories for submissions, one for pupils of junior forms and for primary schools and one for pupils of senior forms. One award each was awarded in both categories. Moreover, there was a special prize of 3,000 euros. Information on how to take part School classes could register for one of the selected projects. In October the whole class undertook research together over a specific period of time. The school classes or schools which provided the greatest amount of data via apps, e-mail, questionnaires or online forms won. The performance of the whole class or, in the case of the Online-Labs4All project, of the whole school was assessed. The prize winners 2015 15 teams of researchers attended the festive event on December 15th in the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna to receive their certificates and prizes. More than 400 people were present when the four research projects were presented and the winning school classes received their prizes within the framework of the festive event. The special prize The special prize was awarded to the class which succeeded in getting a big group of people to take part in the project by means of particularly ingenious strategies.
