世界中から高校生と大学生、社会人が集まり、多様性あふれる環境の中で主体的な進路選択と将来設計につい
て考える。HLABは、そのような目的の下、2011年に設立されました。「ボーダーを越えたリベラル・アーツ」をコンセプト
に、偏差値にもブランドにもよらない国境・世代を越えた交流による進路指導の新しい形を提唱する、教育・国際交
流プログラムです。
昨年に続き、そのプログラムの一つ、世界の第一線で活躍されているリーダーからの講演を行う【フォーラム】が当クラ
ブにて開催され、その模様を見学できる機会を設けました。今年はカリフォルニア工科大学フレッド・カブリ冠教授、
ウォルター・バーク理論物理学研究所所長/ 東京大学カブリ数物連携宇宙研究機構主任研究員併任で素粒
子論を専門にされている大栗博司氏の講義を、会員の皆様に見学していただく機会を設けました。中学生・高校
生のお子様やお孫様、またはご友人をお誘い合わせの上、見学会にご参加頂きたく、お早目のご予定調整をお願
いいたします。

Students from Foreign Universities>

HLAB 2015 Forum: Dr. Hirosi Ooguri, Fred Kavli Professor and Director
of Walter Burke Institute for Theoretical Physics, California Institute of
Technology / Principal Investigator, Kavli Institute for the Physics and
Mathematics of the Universe, the University of Tokyo
HLAB 2015 is dedicated to enhancing the value of liberal arts to the educational scene of Japanese high
school students. To this end, it will bring together about 24 students from foreign universities (namely Ivy
League schools) and 36 Japanese college students from over 20 institutions in both the U.S. and Japan
(namely Ivy League schools and top universities in Tokyo), in order to offer some 80 high school students an
enriching educational experience that will contribute to their decision making in selecting their college, and
future paths.
Dr. Hiroshi Ooguri, a professor and the director of the Institute for Theoretical Physics at California Institute of Technology and a principal investigator of the Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the
Universe at the University of Tokyo will speak to the high school students at one of the forums.
We are very pleased to inform you that the ARK HILLS CLUB Members and their guests will be able to observe this special forum. Please bring your children/grandchildren who are in junior high school or senior
high school to what promises to be an inspiring and exciting forum. Please note that the forum will be conducted in English.
