* To increase contact among women working in
different institutions and contexts.
* To provide continuing education for ourselves
around issues relating to women, gender and social
justice.
* To provide a support network for those of us
involved in efforts or campaigns to improve
opportunities for women in teaching.
* To create and promote bilingual programs and
material for women.
Founded in 1995, WELL is a professional,
volunteer-run support group open to any woman
teaching or studying any language anywhere in
Japan. While most members work and communicate
in English and/or Japanese, teachers and learners of
other languages are involved and welcome.
