2016 年のジャパン・フェスティバルのためのポスター募集
Japan Club of Victoria Inc. (JCV) のジャパン・フェスティバル実行委員会（以下「実行委員会」）は
ハイスクール生徒と大学・TAFE などの学生による 2016 年ジャパン・フェスティバル用ポスター・
デザインを募集します。
募集規則
目的
若い世代のジャパン・フェスティバルに対するフレッシュな感覚を 2016 年ジャパン・フェスティバル用ポスターの形
で表現してほしい。
実行委員会は最優秀作品を 2016 年ジャパン・フェスティバル用ポスターの基礎デザインとして採用するかもしれない。
応募資格
応募者はビクトリア州の中等教育機関（ハイスクール Year 7 から Year 12）の生徒、または高等教育機関（大学、
TAFE など）の学生であること。
ポスターの規格
1. 応募作品は応募者自身の創作であること。著作権のあるなしに関わらず、他者の作品のまねやコピーを一切してはな
らない。
2. サイズ A3
3. 次の”Essential Information”を盛り込むこと
a) The name of the festival: Japan Festival 2016;
b) The name of the organiser: Japan Festival Organising Committee of Japan Club of Victoria Inc.;
c) Date: Sunday 15 May; and
d) Venue: Box Hill Town Hall & Box Hill TAFE.
4. デザイン・メディア：自由（手書き、ＣＧ、複合メディア、など）
注意：コンピュータを使ったデザインは A3 サイズでプリントして応募すること。
賞
a) 最優秀賞賞状と副賞$200（小切手）
b) ２位・３位賞状
c) １位から１０位までの作品を 2016 年ジャパン・フェスティバル会場に飾る。
注
実行委員会は最優秀作品を 2016 年ジャパン・フェスティバル用ポスターの基礎デザインとして採用するかしないか決
めることができる。
もし採用の場合は
a) 実行委員会はデザイナーに作品をもとに 2016 年ジャパン・フェスティバル用ポスターの作成の手伝いをお願いする
かもしれない。
b) 最優秀作品とそれをもとにしたポスターの著作権は実行委員会と Japan Club of Victoria Inc.に属する。
c) 副賞の$200 はポスター作成の手伝い（もしもお願いした場合）の費用と上記著作権の支払いに当たるものとする。
応募規則
応募締め切り日 2015 年 10 月 30 日（金）までに下の宛先に必着。

(普通郵便では２日以上かかるかもしれないので、早目に送ること。)
応募用紙（最後のページ）に書き込み、作品に添えること。応募用紙が添えられていない作品は受け付けない。
審査と結果発表
審査員実行委員会メンバーまたは実行委員会が選んだ外部からの審査員、または両者混成
審査は 2015 年 11 月１日（日）に行う。
審査員の決定は最終的なものであり、これに対する問い合わせ、苦情などは一切受け付けない。
審査結果は 2015 年 11 月 8 日（日）にジャパン・フェスティバル・ウェブサイト上で発表する。

JAPAN FESTIVAL 2016 POSTER CONTEST
A little advice for those who have never designed a poster
This is a poster contest, not a drawing contest.
It will not be easy to make a poster with good integration of graphics and words and
good overall balance. You will need to think hard.
A Japan Festival poster has a clear purpose to tell the general public that there will
be Japan Festival on this date at that venue, etc. and to entice people to come and
enjoy it.
With well-designed graphics a good Japan Festival 2016 poster would grab the
general public’s attention from a distance: Given the A3 size, you as the designer can
decide this distance up to about 5 meters, or even 10 meters if you are really
ambitious.
At the distance you have decided on (probably not at 10 meters) or a little closer, the
name of the event, “Japan Festival 2016”, the most important piece of written
information the poster must convey, would clearly be visible. Then people would look
for the date (and time) and venue. Then they would want to find out who the
organiser is. (If the organiser is well-known, it can be prominently presented at your
discretion.)
These essential items must be clearly prioritised and clearly presented to make an
effective poster.
Notes on the “essential information”
The essential information is deliberately kept to a minimum to give plenty of space for
your graphics/drawing. There are obviously more essential pieces of information, e.g.
Time, Contact for enquiry, Website, but you do not need to include them for this
competition because they can be added later.
The words like ‘Date’ and ‘Venue’ can be omitted depending on your taste and/or the
availability of space.
