In the Global Class, a number
of subjects will be taught in
English and will follow the
Japanese National Curriculum.
Students will, therefore, be
able to reach the same
standards of achievement as
their counterparts in the
Japanese classes. English will
be taught according to the
guidelines of the U.K. National
Curriculum.

独自科目グローバルスタディーズは、
国際的な問題や課題に対する知識や調
査・分析力、プレゼンテーション力を
高めることを目的とした探究型の学び
です。グローバルクラスの3年間で、以
下のような9つのトピックを児童自身が
調査・分析し、ディスカッションやプ
レゼンテーションしていきます。
自分がこれからの社会に何をすることができるのか、ま
たどのように行動していく責任があるのかを理解したグ
ローバル市民になるためには、普段から自分の学びを他
者と共有していくような活動が大切です。そこでグロー
バルクラスでは、Student Action Project (SAP)という活動
をグローバルスタディーズの中に設け、ワークショップ
やプレゼンテーションを行うなどして、学び得た知識や
調査結果を発信していきます。これによって、学びと実
生活との結びつきを実感するとともに、社会への責任感
と学び続ける姿勢が養われます。
Global Studies is a subject which is
unique to the Global Class at Hong
Kong Japanese School. The Global
Studies course is an inquiry-led study
program which offers our students
the opportunity to develop modern
global skills (research, presentation,
discussion and analytical skills) as
well as further their knowledge of the
world issues and current affairs that are
shaping contemporary society. Over
the duration of the course students will
study nine topics (three topics per year).
In order to become responsible global citizens, students
need to be aware of the responsibility they have for
making our world a better place for future generations.
In light of this, Global Class students will be encouraged
to take part in Student-Initiated Action Projects (SAP) in
which they take the knowledge they have learnt from
their inquiry units and use it to serve the wider school
community. Such projects also aim to help students to
realize that what they learn in class can also be put to
use in real life situations beyond the classroom and lead
to them becoming life-long learners.
