痛みは、侵害刺激が加わった場所とその強さの認知に関わる感覚的成分と、侵害受容に伴う不安、嫌悪、抑う
つ、恐怖などの負情動の生起に関わる情動的成分からなる。痛みによる負情動は、生体警告系としての痛み
の生理的役割にとって重要であるが、慢性疼痛では、痛みにより引き起こされる不安、抑うつ、恐怖などの負情
動が、患者の QOL を著しく低下させるだけでなく、精神疾患・情動障害の引き金ともなる。我々は、痛みによる
負情動生成機構について、「extended amygdala（拡張扁桃体）」を構成する脳領域である分界条床核に着目し
て研究を進めている。本セミナーでは、背外側分界条床核における CRF 神経情報伝達と NPY 神経情報伝達
が、痛みによる負情動生成において相反的な役割を果たしていることを示唆する行動薬理学的知見を示すとと
もに、その神経機構に関する電気生理学的・組織化学的な研究成果を紹介し、痛みによる負情動生成のメカニ
ズムについて論じたい。
