2015 年 6 月 26 日から 7 月 10 日まで、サザビーズ香港 S|2 ギャラリーにて、映像大手のアマナとコラボレーシ
ョンした SHASHIN! ―Japanese Photography Then/Now(邦訳：写真！日本の写真今と昔展)を開催いたします。
20 世紀後半を代表する著名な日本の写真家の 100 を超える作品を展示した本展覧会は、日本の現代写真を包括
的なスケールで初めて中華圏でご紹介するエキサイティングな展示会となっています。
常に新たな境地やスタイルを開拓してきた戦後日本の現代写真は、多岐に及ぶスタイル、テクニック、そして
哲学を表現しています。1960 年代から今日に至るまで、様々なアーティスト達が現代日本の文化を反映し、表
現し、再配置するような写真作品を発表してきました。
本 SHASHIN! 展では、戦後日本における現代写真の巨匠と呼ばれている荒木経惟、森山大道、細江英公等の
ビンテージ作品を展示いたします。また、展覧会の最大の見所となるのは、1997 年の香港返還直前に荒木経
惟が初めて香港を訪問した際に撮影された Hong Kong Kiss シリーズの世界初公開です。これらの巨匠による大
作に加え、既に国際的なシーンで高く評価されている蜷川実花、川内倫子といった著名な女性アーティスト
の作品や、さらには水谷吉法、赤鹿麻耶、Kosuke や Nerhol といった次世代の期待のアーティスト達の作品が、
本展覧会では相互が対話するかのようにダイナミックに展示されています。
Shashin とは？
本展覧会では、日本語の「写真」をそのままローマ字で「Shashin」と表記しタイトルに使用することで、写真
作品のあり方を日本的なコンテクストで理解することを試みています。日本からの写真、という一つのカテゴ
リーを独立して捉える事を目的としています。
サザービズ・アジア副会長の Nicolas Chow は、「今回の SHASHIN！展では、絶え間なく変化を続けてきた過
去 50 年間の日本の写真を展示しており、特に我々は今回、荒木による Hong Kong Kiss シリーズを世界で初め
てご紹介出来ることを非常に光栄に感じています。世界的に現代写真市場は好況に沸いており、我々はその市
場をさらに香港で成長させていきたいと考えております。」とコメントしています。

ARAKI’S HONG KONG KISS SERIES
サザビーズ S|2 は、今回の展覧会において、荒木経惟によるプラチナ＆パラジウムプリントの Hong Kong Kiss
シリーズを世界で初めて展示公開いたします。これらの作品は、イギリスから中国への返還が差し迫った 1997
年に作家が初めて香港を訪れた際に撮影されました。荒木は同シリーズで初めて日本以外の国で撮影を行い、
その意味において Hong Kong Kiss シリーズは彼のキャリアにおけるターニングポイントとなりました。香港で
の経験に影響を受け、以降荒木は海外を訪問し、独自の「旅写真」を撮影する事となります。
本展覧会のために厳選された 52 作品は、今回初めてプリント作品として発表され、社会と政治が著しく変化
する当時の香港の街の状況を体現した作品となっています。
荒木のレンズは、当時の沸き立つ香港の喧噪や変わりゆく街の情景、失われていく古い町並みの様子を映し出
し、さらに市民の日々の暮らしをも鮮明にとらえています。

CONTEMPORARY PHOTOGRAPHY
SHASHIN! 展のコンテポラリー写真セクションには、若いアーティスト達によるダイナミックかつ独創的な視
点で撮影された多様な作品が展示されます。こちらのセレクションは、蜷川実花と川内倫子という既に国内
外で著名な二人の女性写真家の作品が全体を率いています。蜷川は、彼女の従来からの色鮮やかなで開放的な
作風で知られていますが、濃厚でムーディーな noir シリーズで新たな分野にも挑戦しています。一方、川内は
テキスチャーや光、構成を魔法のように操り、静かで美しい日常をカメラでとらえています。

新しい世代のアーティスト達はコンセプチュアルかつ審美的な強みをどちらも兼ね備えており、たとえば水谷
吉法の「Colors」シリーズでは、表面上の見ためや色や質感の静かなる関係を描き、さらに賞を受賞した
「Tokyo Parrots」では、奇妙でシュールな作風で我々を魅了します。一方、Kosuke の複数の露出や二重焼の高
い技術を用いて撮影された作品は、神秘的でかつ謎めいた、感情的な雰囲気の世界へと導きます。そして、独
自の時間が流れている赤鹿麻耶の作品は、日常の風景を緩く歪ませることで、我々を現実から離脱した世界へ
と導いていきます。

S|2 is the private sale and gallery arm of Sotheby’s global Contemporary Art department, offering exceptional works of art
through unique and important exhibitions throughout the world. Exhibition programming has included shows dedicated to
the works of individual artists, such as Keith Haring, Yayoi Kusama and Jean-Michel Basquiat, to shows curated by art
world figures including Vito Schnabel and Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld. The works on display in S|2 are available for private
sale, offering an exciting new dimension to the Sotheby’s experience. In addition to gallery programming, the S|2 team
also facilitates bespoke private acquisitions and sales.

amanainc. is a Japan-based holding company mainly engaged in the production of advertisement visual contents, as well as
the sale of stock photos. The Stock Photo segment sells copyrighted work on commission through websites, agencies and
producers. The Advertisement Visual Production and Advertisement Planning/Production segment provides shooting,
computer-generated (CG) and animation production visual for advertising industry. The Entertainment Film Production
segment produces CG film for television animations, films, gaming images and exhibition films on order-made basis. This
segment is also engaged in the character licensing for its products, as well as producing of film production artists. It also
involves in next-generation creator training school business.
