都築正和名誉会長、”AAMI Foundation’s Laufman-Greatbatch Award”受賞
この度、当協会の名誉会長である都築正和先生が、2015 年 6 月の AAMI 年次大会にて、栄
誉ある「AAMI Foundation’s Laufman-Greatbatch Award」を、日本人として初めて受賞さ
れました。
The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)は、1967 年
に設立された非営利組織です。安全で効果的なヘルスケア技術の発展・管理・利用を目的と
し、教育振興活動、食品医薬品局（FDA）との協議を通じた政策提言、メディアでの情報発
信等の活動を行っています。
「AAMI Foundation’s Laufman-Greatbatch Award」とは、ヘルスケア技術・制度、医療サ
ービス、看護サービスや患者の安全性の向上のために、類まれなる貢献をした個人もしくは
団体へ贈られる賞です。
1975 年以降、この賞は病院情報システムを活用し医療の安全性と品質の向上に貢献した
David Bates 氏や、医療機器の開発に多大なる貢献をした Neal E. Fearnot 氏等が受賞して
おり、都築先生は歴代 39 人目の受賞者となります。

Dr. Tsuzuki, Chairman Emeritus of JMEMA, was awarded “AAMI Foundation’s
Laufman-Greatbatch Award”
Dr. Masakazu Tsuzuki, M.D., Ph.D., Chairman Emeritus of Japan Middle East Medical Association
(JMEMA), became the first Japanese to win prestigious “AAMI Foundation’s Laufman-Greatbatch
Award” at the annual conference of AAMI in June 2015.
The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) is a nonprofit
organization founded in 1967. AAMI’s mission is “the development, management, and use of safe
and effective healthcare technology”. To achieve this mission, it plays an active role in educational
development, collaborative initiatives including summits with the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA), dispatching information through various media and etc.
“AAMI Foundation’s Laufman-Greatbatch Award” is the most prestigious award. This highly
regarded award honors an individual or group that has made a unique and significant contribution
to the advancement of healthcare technology and systems, service, patient care, or patient safety.
Since 1975, this award was given to Mr. David Bates who contributed actively to enhance medical
safety and quality by making use of hospital information system, Mr. Neal E. Fearnot who
contributed to the development of medical equipment and etc. Dr. Tsuzuki is the 39th award winner
of this award.
