2-18 第 4 文型 SVO1O2
（１）相手が先・渡すものは後
本動詞に「あげる、与える、やる」「伝える」「教える」などを使うと、相手を先に書い
て、あげたり、伝えたりするものを後に書く順番でも良いことになっている。これを第 4
文型 SVO1O2 と呼ぶ。順番と動詞がポイントだ。第 4 文型 SVO1O2 とを作れる動詞は決ま
っている。それらを覚えて練習しよう。

◇「渡す」伝達系 tell、show、give などは、前置詞 to を使って書き換えができる。

= You teach English to us.
英語では前置詞を前に持たない名詞が目的語だ。でも『彼に』は『to him』となり、前置詞が付属す
るので修飾語になる。それを避けるための「特例」と考えよう。

= He told the way to the station to me.
◇「∼してあげる」奉仕系 make、buy は書き換えに前置詞 for を使う
【c】
Her grandfather made
(彼女に=her) (素敵な扇= a nice fan).
→ Her grandfather made her a nice fan.
(彼女の祖父は彼女に素敵な扇を作ってくれた)
= Her grandfather made a nice fan for her.
