Kurdish Conscripts Confront Impossible Odds In Turkey....
Turkey’s return to a war footing with the PKK, attacking the organisation’s known areas of
civilian support within Turkey, its bases and camps in Iraq, and its sister organisation, the
PYD, in Syria, means increased risks to ordinary Kurds on the street but even more to those
Kurds made to perform military service. Kurdish conscripts confront impossible odds and
real risks of being sent to fight against their fellow Kurds in the conflict zones.

There are ongoing reports the Iraqi Army is building up for an attack on ISIS to dislodge
them from Mosul. This would be a major event and a giant leap forward for the IA. The
questions that come up would be, are they ready, can they do it. ISIS is heavily entrenched
in Mosul, the second largest city in Iraq. The current estimate on the population of Mosul
is 600,000.
