③ 応用言語学、第二言語教育、ホスピタリティ･観光学、経営学、国際関係のいずれかの
分野において学士以上の学位を有する者
④ 英語教育について 2 年以上の経験を有する者

Position for Lecturer of English
Hokkaido Bunkyo University invites applicants for a position of a Special Lecturer.
1.
Affiliation: The Department of International Language Studies, Faculty of Foreign Languages
2.
Position: Lecturer (one-year contract renewable by mutual agreement)
3.
Specialized area of teaching: English
4.
Teaching Duty: around eight undergraduate classes of 90 minutes a week, mostly related to English
acquisition, such as extensive reading and academic writing, but could also include specific areas
related to hospitality and tourism studies, business studies and international relations. The courses
to be taught involve some computer skills.
5.
Applications must arrive by: January 29, 2016 (May stop accepting applications if qualified
candidate selected earlier)

Position starting date: April 1, 2016
7.
Position type: Full-time (one-year contract, renewable by mutual agreement)
8.
Qualification:
1) Native/near-native speaker competence in English
2) A high proficiency in Japanese especially in oral communication
3) A BA or a higher degree in the area related to one of the following: applied linguistics, second
language education, hospitality, tourism studies, business studies, and international relations
4) At least two years of experience of teaching English
9.
Required documents for application:
1) A resume/CV (in the provided format: see below)
2) An ID photo (45 mm x 35 mm)
3) A written statement of the applicant’s views on teaching and career objectives at our university
(1000 words)
4) One letter of recommendation (from the thesis supervisor if possible)
5) A copy of the applicant’s diploma and an official transcript

10. Selecting procedures: Shortlisted candidates living in Japan will be invited for interviews to be held
at Hokkaido Bunkyo University in January 2016.
NB1) Finalists’ travel expenses and hotel stay for the interview will not be reimbursed.
NB2) The interview will be conducted both in Japanese and English.
NB3) Resume and other materials will not be returned.
