Deakin のプロフィール：His research interests is as follows: The study of corporate governance from an interdisciplinary and comparative perspective; economic and sociological theories of law; empirical studies of the effects of legal change; doctrinal legal analysis in the areas of company, employment and private law; relations between shareholders and directors; human resource management and employment contracting; inter-firm relations; corporate insolvency; corporate social responsibility. 講演の概要：Results are presented from a unique dataset of labour laws in over 60 countries between 1970 and 2014. The dataset makes it possible to carry out longitudinal analysis of the economic effects of labour regulation, using panel-data and time series econometric techniques. The impact of particular laws (for example, on working time, dismissal and employee representation) can be identified. Worker-protective labour laws are shown to have the effect of reducing inequality and, in certain contexts, of enhancing firm-level innovation and productivity.
