There are four people in my family. My husband, me and our two children. Commentary Nouns combined with「と」can be used as a single noun in the sentence. Structure N1 （Person） は N2 （Place） どこ に すんで います。 に すんで いますか。 Examples ①あには ほっかいどうに すんで います。 Ani wa Hokkaidoo ni sunde imasu. My brother lives in Hokkaido. ②Ａ：どこに すんで いますか。 A: D oko ni sunde imasu ka. A: Where do you live? Ｂ：とうきょうに すんで います。 B: Took yoo ni sunde imasu. B: I live in Tokyo. Commentary A.「すんでいます」 is used with 「に」 to show that N2 is the place where someone lives. My family has four members. ②あにの こどもは ３さいです。 Ani no ko domo wa s an-s ai de su. My brother's child is three years old. ③Ａ：この ひとは だれですか。 A: Kono hito wa dar e de su ka. A: Who is this person? Ｂ：あねの おっとです。 B: Ane no ot to de su. B: He's my sister's husband. Commentary 「Ｎ１の」 modifies N2.
