Dedicated to Hajino Nakamoto and Hinokuma brothers, Hamanari and Takenari
who found and came to understand the miracle-working of the principal icon of
Sensoji Temple. In 1649, the shrine pavilion of the classic architectural style, or
Gongen-zukuri, was dedicated by Tokugawa Iemitsu, third tycoon of the
Tokugawa shogunate, and has been designated as a nationally important cultural
property. The annual shrine festival “Sanja Matsuri”, one of the three biggest

The Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center is a tourist information facility in Taito Ward,
found in front of the Asakusa Kaminarimon gate. We provide useful information and services
to the great many visitors to Taito Ward based on the concept of “Finding, Showing and
Supporting.” On the first floor there is a tourist information counter and an Exchange
Counter. On the second floor there is a PC area with free Wi-Fi. And on the top floor there is
an observation deck and a Café.
