Short Cut 2-4 2-4 過去進行形 （１）「～していた、～しているところだった」が過去進行形の文 be 動詞の過去形 was , were と ing 形を使うと、 「～していた」 「～している」ところだっ たの過去の動作の進行を表現できる。 過去進行形の文を否定文・疑問文に転換するには、was, were に not を付けると否定文・ 文頭に出せば疑問文になる。ただし気を回しすぎて、ing 形を原形に戻す必要はない。 《設例 1》過去進行形を紹介する。 ◇主語に合った過去形 be 動詞 was, were ＋ 現在分詞(ing 形)で、過去進行形「～して いた、いるところだった」になる。 【a】 I ｳｵｯﾁﾝｸﾞ was watching TV. ［和訳］(私は、テレビを見ていた[見ているところだった]) 【b】 You ﾕｰｼﾞﾝｸﾞ were using the Internet. ［和訳］(あなたは、インターネットを使っていた[使っているところだった]) ◇過去形の be 動詞＋現在分詞で過去進行形「～しているところだった」 【c】 → 【d】 You studied English. You were studying English then. (あなたはコンピューターを使っていた) ［否定文］You weren’t using the computer. (あなたはコンピューターを使っていなかった) ［疑問文］Were you using the computer ?
