Course Aim This Meeting traditionally brings together investigators and clinicians with foremost experience in kidney transplantation, to discuss topics related to kidney transplant care. Failure of a kidney transplant is still a major problem after kidney transplantation, in spite of recent immunosuppressive protocols and focus of clinical management addressing at prolonging long-term graft survival. The learning objectives of this course include the recognition of clinical and pathological features, as well as the prevention and management of long term kidney transplants. Some of the major issues related to both the early and late post transplant course, including acute and chronic antibody mediated rejection, the endothelial damage induced by circulating anti-HLA and nonHLA antibodies and by HUS, an update of the most recent findings on kidney transplant pathology on will be discussed. The interdisciplinarity of workers, the periodical nature of these meetings and the friendly relationships among the participants make them a unique opportunity to discuss freely and in a uninformal context.
