The European Academy is a professional masterclass open to experienced choral conductors which takes place in a sunny coastal city in the
centre of Italy. Participants will have the chance to practice with a highlevel pilot choir, at their disposal for the whole duration of the course. The
Academy ends with a public concert conducted by the participants.
Aim group: Conductors from all over Europe and beyond, no age limit.
The organisers reserve the right to estimate the level of the participants
according to their entry form, the curriculum vitae, their age and their
performance during the first conducting sessions (16 active participants,
passive participation possible).

Programme: The masterclass will be dedicated to “Bach & Scandinavia Understanding the music of our present time through the study of Bach’s
music” and in particular will focus on important works of J.S. Bach, P.
Nørgård, S.D. Sandström, K. Nystedt, J. Mäntyjärvi and others.
The course will develop through different themes, underlining also the
importance of a rehearsal method, the performance and choral conducting method and some advices on vocal technique and vocal health.
