Pisa Food & Wine Festival is becoming the traditional kermesse
of the very best local products from Monti Pisani to Valdicecina,
including pasta, honey, sweets and cakes, cured meats, cheese,
wine, olive oil, sauces and chocolate. Organized by Pisa Chamber
of Commerce, the Festival is designed to bring local producers
and restaurateurs in contact with food lovers and the general
consumers alike. It’s part of the rich programme of similar events
held throughout Tuscany every year and is a major showcase for
food, wine and agricultural products of Pisa province. It also includes
cookery lessons for adults and laboratories children. Visitors may
only taste (by purchasing vouchers at reception desk) or directly
buy from the producers. On Saturday and Sunday, guided walking
tours from the two main exhibitions sites of Palazzo Blu (Amedeo
Modigliani) and Piazza Duomo (Angeli, by Igor Mitoraj) will lead
visitors to the Leopolda venue.

EXHIBITION “AMEDEO MODIGLIANI”
Pisa, Palazzo Blu / 3 October 2014 - 15 February 2015
A rich and careful selection of works from the Pompidou Center in
Paris will be on display at Palazzo Blu on Pisa riversides. The works
will hang alongside the masterpieces from some major collections,
public and private, Italian and international, recreating the cultural
atmosphere in which Modigliani worked. The exhibition retraces
his exciting and extraordinary experience of painting in that period,
following Modigliani’s artistic life from his early years in Livorno until
his move to Paris in 1906. In addition to Modigliani’s works, other
masterpieces by major artists of the time will be on display, such as
Chaim Soutine, Picasso, Chagall, Léger and other popular figures.

EXHIBITION “ANGELS” BY IGOR MITORAJ

The medieval setting of Pisa’s Piazza dei Miracoli will play host to
‘Angeli’ (Angels), an exhibition by the Polish artist Igor Mitoraj which
inaugurates a new space for temporary exhibitions and for the first
time presents a contemporary artist close to the Leaning Tower. The
exhibition comprises about a hundred items, including monumental
works, bronzes, iron casts and marble sculptures as well as fifty
plaster casts forming a personal collection as yet unknown to the
public.

8.00 pm; from November to January included, every day from 9.00
am to 5.00 pm.
