Waalkade - QUAY WALL Nijmegen Location: Nijmegen Client: Gemeente Nijmegen Project description: Replacing sheet piling on the west side of the Waalkade Nijmegen Desgin, Execution and Maintain Aannemerscombinatie Colijn Aannemersbedrijf en Reef Infra Project information On the quay wall, named “de Waalkade”, between the Grotestraat and the railway bridge at Nijmegen, work is in progress for the replacement of 660 meter long, instable steel sheet piling. The contractors consortium Reef Infra B.V. and Colijn Aannemersbedrijf B.V replaces the 12 meter long steel sheet pilings for sheetpiling of 26 meter long. Even the complete anchoring will be replaced. The new sheet piling construction is calculated for still keep getting bigger and larger vessels, those sail across the Waal. After a while the east side must be tackled, and then the west side. At last, when work will be started again in the middle section. The replacement of the steel sheet piling was scheduled and completed at the end of 2013 and in the last two months the quay that was also decorated in the last two months.
